Getting started

What is Communik?

Communik is a website builder and hosting platform made by Webevolutis, a French company. You assemble your site from ready-made modules (blog, directory, documentation…), pre-designed layouts and customisable blocks, with hosting, SSL and a CDN included.

Building is free — you subscribe only when you want to publish on your own domain.

Is Communik free to start?
Yes. Building a site is free — every plan starts free, and you only pay when you want to publish on your own custom domain. See the pricing page for current plans.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You build visually with blocks, layouts and modules — drag, drop and edit. If you do want to go further, you can add your own custom code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) exactly where you need it.

How quickly can I get online?

Faster than starting from scratch: pick a trade template or a module, adjust the content, and publish — going live takes one click and your site is served within seconds.

Browse a website for every business to start from a design made for your trade.

Can I see real examples before signing up?
Yes. Each trade page on the website-for section includes navigable live demos: you browse the actual design, try colours and fonts, and only then create your site with the setup you chose.
Can I migrate an existing website?
There is no automatic one-click migration of an existing site. In practice you rebuild it from a template or modules — usually quickly — and you can import structured content (lists, products, articles) from CSV files into the CMS.

Pricing & billing

How much does Communik cost?

Building is free. To publish on your own domain, plans currently start at €14/month (Solopreneur); the Freelance plan is €49/month and the Agency plan €99/month.

The amounts shown here follow the billing cycle and currency you pick (yearly billing is the cheapest) — the pricing page always shows the live prices, straight from our billing catalogue.

Is there a long-term commitment?
No. Subscriptions are non-binding: you can cancel at any time from your account, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You choose monthly, 6-month or yearly billing.

What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment provider — you pay securely by card. Prices are shown excluding VAT.

What do the plans include?

Every plan includes hosting, SSL, CDN, the CMS, multilingual support and the SEO tools. Plans differ by quotas:

  • Solopreneur: 1 published site, 20 pages, 500 CMS rows;
  • Freelance: 3 sites, 100 pages, 10 000 rows;
  • Agency: 8 sites, 300 pages, 30 000 rows.

Full details on the pricing page.

What if I need more than my plan includes?
You can either move up to a bigger plan or add exactly what you're missing: extra published sites, extra pages, extra CMS rows and extra AI credits are available as add-ons on any plan. Current add-on prices are on the pricing page.
Can I pay in euros or dollars?
Both. Plans are available in EUR and USD — the pricing page detects your region and lets you switch currency at any time.

Domains & publishing

Can I use my own domain name?
Yes — publishing on your own domain is exactly what the paid plans are for. You connect the domain via DNS, and SSL (HTTPS) is set up automatically. The builder checks your DNS configuration for you.
Does Communik sell domain names?
No. You register your domain with the registrar of your choice (OVHcloud, Gandi, Cloudflare…) and connect it to Communik. That's deliberate: the domain is registered in your name and stays your property, whatever happens with your subscription.
Can I publish without a custom domain?
Yes. Every project gets a Communik staging address (a private subdomain) where your site is fully served — useful to review, share a preview or keep working before going live on your own domain.
Is hosting included?
Yes. Hosting is part of the platform: your site is served from cloud infrastructure with a CDN, SSL certificates are managed for you, and the infrastructure runs at OVHcloud, a European provider.

Features & modules

What modules are available?
Ready-made modules currently include blog, directory, documentation, changelog, booking and forum — you plug them in, combine them freely and add or remove them at any time. Trade templates on the website-for section come with the right modules pre-selected.
Can my site be multilingual?
Yes, multilingual support is built in: each language gets its own URLs (like /fr/…), untranslated content falls back to the default language, and hreflang tags plus per-language sitemaps are generated automatically. This very website runs in English and French on that system.
Does Communik have a CMS?

Yes. You create collections (articles, products, team members, FAQs…), and pages are generated dynamically from that data — one template renders every entry, no manual duplication. A file manager handles your images and documents.

This FAQ itself is served from a collection.

Can I add forms?
Yes — contact and custom forms are built in, with submissions stored in your CMS and e-mail notifications. A members area (login-protected pages) is also available.
Can I add my own code?
Yes. You can inject custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript at site level or per page — handy for analytics scripts, widgets or fine-grained tweaks — while keeping the visual builder for everything else.
What are AI credits?
AI features help you generate and refine your site — for example creating a site from a short brief on the trade pages. Each plan includes a monthly allowance: 2 000 credits on Solopreneur, 8 000 on Freelance and 16 000 on Agency — and you can buy more as an add-on.

SEO & performance

Is SEO built in?
Yes, from the start: per-page titles and meta descriptions, Open Graph tags, structured data (JSON-LD), automatic sitemap.xml and robots.txt, canonical URLs, 301 redirects and hreflang for multilingual sites. You control all of it without plugins.
Are Communik sites fast?
Sites are rendered server-side and served through a CDN, so visitors — and search engines — receive real HTML immediately instead of waiting for JavaScript. Pages are optimised for every device, mobile included.
Is there built-in analytics?
Yes — privacy-friendly, first-party analytics you can enable per site, without third-party trackers. You can still add an external tool of your choice via custom code.

Your data & account

Who owns my website and content?
You do. Per our terms, you remain the owner of the content you create and publish with Communik; Webevolutis only holds the technical licence strictly necessary to host, display and back it up. Your domain name, registered with your own registrar, is yours too.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and nothing dramatic happens: your project and content stay in your account, your content can be exported, and your domain stays yours since it's registered in your name.

Serving on your custom domain stops, but your site's staging URL keeps working without a subscription — your work doesn't disappear. Resubscribe anytime to put your domain back online.

Can I export my content?
Yes. Your CMS collections (articles, products, entries…) can be exported as CSV files at any time, and your media files are downloadable from the file manager. Since you own your content, you're free to take it elsewhere.
Where is my data hosted? Is Communik GDPR-compliant?
Communik is built by Webevolutis, a French company, and the platform is hosted at OVHcloud, a European provider. Data is processed under the GDPR — our privacy policy details purposes, processors, retention and your rights.

How does support work?
Support is provided by e-mail and through the documentation. Use the contact page — we usually reply within one business day.
Can I work with collaborators?
Yes — you can invite collaborators to work on your sites with you, through the account's member features.
