What you get

A site that works while you work.

Four things that turn a visitor into a customer, in place from the first day.

Your method, before your prices

Four house rules are already written: rewards rather than fear and no coercive collar, the owner holds the lead, an assessment before any plan, the vet first when it looks medical. Keep yours, rewrite the rest.

One page for each course

Puppy school, loose-lead walking, recall, behaviour assessment, group walk: each course says who it is for, where it happens, how many sessions it takes and what it costs.

A group class timetable owners can check

Day, time, level and place for each class on your ground. Families see when to come without texting you, and the section disappears if you only train at home.

Your training site appears while you fill it in

Type your name and phone number, choose one of five designs (green lead, puppy school, behaviour assessment, Saturday ground, home visits) and the preview on this page follows. You create an account only to keep it.

The pages you get

Not an empty template to fill in: pages already written and already linked to each other, with example content you correct instead of writing from scratch.

The checklist

What your website
must contain.

The sections that actually bring in enquiries, and the ones you can skip.

Your method in black and white

Rewards, equipment you use and refuse, the part the owner plays.

What the first assessment involves

Where it happens, how long it lasts, what the owner receives afterwards.

One course per problem, with its price

Puppy, pulling, recall, reactivity: one page each.

The weekly group class timetable

Day, time, level and place, plus what you ask for at the gate.

The area you travel to

A radius around town, and how travel beyond it is priced.

Reviews about walks that became calm again

An owner who enjoys going out again convinces the next one.

01Budget

What it really
costs.

Real figures, including what you pay elsewhere and what you no longer pay here.

Writing your trainer site, free of charge

Building it and seeing the preview cost nothing, and you are never asked for a bank card at this stage.

Publishing, and opening your diary if you want

Online on your own domain: €14 excl. VAT a month, invoiced once a year, hosting and SSL certificate included. Online booking of sessions is optional, from €19 excl. VAT a month, with payments sent to your Stripe account and no commission for Communik. FAQ, reviews, gallery and blog modules can be switched on later.

What stays away from the site

Your travel costs, the rent of your training ground, your professional insurance, your listing on Google Maps, and buying a domain if you still lack one.

02To avoid

The mistakes that
cost you clients.

Seen on hundreds of sites in this trade, and each one is cheap to fix.

Keeping your method vague

Owners who reject coercive collars move on to a trainer who says so.

Promising a perfect dog in three sessions

Behaviour takes time, and an honest owner reads a promise like this as a warning.

Quoting a certificate you never earned

An authorisation or certificate is checkable: list only yours.

A form that forgets the dog's age

A four-month puppy and a nine-year-old rescue do not need the same first visit.

Group classes with no day or place

Families cannot plan, and you answer the same question every week.

The puppy chews the skirting boards, the rescue dog lunges at every bike, the Labrador has stopped coming back in the park. The owner searches dog trainer near me, sometimes puppy classes, often dog trainer in Rennes, and reads your page carefully, because they are about to trust you with a member of the family. What they look for first is not your price. It is the way you work.

Treats or a choke chain: say it in the first screen

Nothing divides owners more than method. If you train with food, play and voice, and refuse prong, choke and electric collars, write it plainly near the top. If you coach the owner as much as the dog, say that too: the person reading knows they will practise five minutes a day between sessions. A clear method also filters out the requests you would turn down anyway.

What happens during the first assessment?

Many owners hesitate because they cannot picture the first visit. Describe it step by step. A short phone call to hear about the dog and the problem. Then about an hour and a half at home or on the usual walk, watching the dog in its own world. Then a plan with a number of sessions, rather than a ready-made pack. Mention the written summary you send afterwards, and whether owners can send you a short video between two visits.

Puppy school, pulling on the lead, recall: one page each

An owner whose dog pulls does not want to read about agility. Give every course its own page: who it is for, where it takes place (at home, on your training ground, in a group), how many sessions, the price. Each page answers one search and one worry, and the owner books the right thing from the start.

  • puppy school, for puppies that have just arrived home;
  • loose-lead walking, on the route the owner already uses;
  • recall, built up on a long line before any freedom;
  • a behaviour assessment for reactivity or fear.

Saturday morning on the training ground

If you run group classes, publish the timetable: day, time, level and place. Say that the first group class comes after an individual session, and what you ask for at the gate, such as a dog identified by chip or tattoo, which French law requires, and vaccinations up to date. Families plan their weekend around it, and the timetable on screen saves you the same text message every Friday.

A dog trainer website that admits what it cannot do

Pain can change behaviour. Saying that you send an owner to the vet first when a problem looks medical is not a weakness: it is what a worried owner wants to read. List the qualifications you actually hold, and nothing else. If the prefecture has authorised you to run the training that leads to the aptitude certificate for category 1 and 2 dogs, say so; if not, leave it out. Then give the area you cover, for example 25 km around town, and how you price travel beyond it.

Write down your method and your first assessment tonight, and send the next owner who rings to a page that already answers them.

Questions

Before you start.
Everything else, just ask.

What people ask before they get going.

I only train at clients' homes. Can I remove the group classes?

Yes. One setting removes the timetable section, and one of the five designs is made for trainers who travel, with the area you cover drawn around your town.

How do I publish my Saturday classes?

Each class is a line with its day, time, level and place. One design puts this timetable just below the first screen, like the board at the entrance of a club.

Will the site claim a diploma I do not have?

No. It mentions no certification and no prefecture authorisation on your behalf. You add the ones you hold, and only those.

Can I give a price for a behaviour assessment?

Yes. The behaviour assessment is a course like the others, with who it is for, where it takes place, the number of sessions and the price you set.

Can owners book their first session online?

Yes, if you add online booking (an option from €19 excl. VAT a month). Owners pick one of your slots and pay into your own Stripe account; Communik keeps no commission. Otherwise the form brings you a request and you ring back to fix the assessment.

What does the first-session form ask the owner?

The dog's name, breed and age, what they would like to work on, and a free note for anything you should know: a bite, a fear, other dogs at home.
